I've been listening to your podcast for a long time and this was perhaps my favorite episode to date. As someone who has fallen in love with baseball very recently, it helped fill in a lot of the gaps in my SABR vocabulary. Along the same lines, I'd love to hear you guys do some episodes about baseball economics (e.g. What are the primary sources of a team's revenue? Are there rules about how it must be spent? Does a team's payroll refer specifically to it's active roster or does it also include the coaches, farm system, front office, etc?)

I like your point about how a spread is devised. It makes you wonder if you should just always bet against the Yankees.

Confused about the Jamey Carroll/Alexei Ramirez point you're making AG. Don't both fangraphs and b-ref love Jamey Carroll's defense? Why would he be your poster boy of a defensive player who doesn't make a lot of errors but isn't necessarily that good at defense. Don't the defensive portions of WAR disagree with you?
