		<description><![CDATA[Still pisses me off that people get bent out of shape about a guy sliding into first.  Running through the base is faster than sliding, yes that is true, but only if you have your timing and stride down perfectly.  Many times runners have to slow down a little so they can hit first otherwise they will step over it.  In this case sliding head first is faster.  As someone who has played alot of baseball and been a firstbase coach for a dozen years a see alot of guys slow down so they can touch the base.  I wasn&#039;t a fan of Punto because of his sliding into first, I wasn&#039;t a fan of him because he couldn&#039;t hit.]]></description>
