Twins Call Up Trevor Plouffe From Triple-A

My apologies for the lack of a Link-O-Rama this week. Blame the fact that hermits like me are not well-equipped to handle their schedule being thrown off by a rare night out. I'll attempt to make up for it with twice as many links to Mila Kunis pictures next week, but in the meantime I wanted to at least note that the Twins quickly returned to a 12-man pitching staff by shipping Jeff Manship back to Triple-A and calling up Trevor Plouffe.

J.J. Hardy being out for longer than expected with a wrist injury convinced the Twins to give Plouffe his first taste of the majors rather than fill the spot with Matt Tolbert or a 13th pitcher. Plouffe also earned the call-up by hitting .303/.367/.493 in 38 games at Triple-A, which is the best showing of his seven-year career and puts him back on the prospect map after his stock had slipped. This offseason he ranked No. 27 on my annual list of the Twins' top prospects.
