The lack of articles on MLB’s disaster of having a one game “wild card playoff’ is mind boggling. Wondering why your “in the hunt” wild card team doesn’t make any moves….well it’s because having a “solid three man rotation” or “adding bats” by trading prospects all for a not guaranteed 1 game playoff win is silly. Before the new system, the wild card team was guaranteed at least 3 playoff games (5 games series)….now the high wild card is guaranteed just 1! The high wild card could be 10 or more games above the low wild card in the standings… and yep a bloop fly ball could by the low wild card in the playoff game can end your season……IN ONE GAME. Why play 162 if it’s ONE GAME. Anything can happen in ONE GAME.
