Viva Las Vegas
Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
There's a thousand pretty women waitin' out there
And they're all livin' devil may care
And I'm just the devil with love to spare
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las VegasHow I wish that there were more
Than the twenty-four hours in the day
'Cause even if there were forty more
I wouldn't sleep a minute away
Oh, there's black jack and poker and the roulette wheel
A fortune won and lost on ev'ry deal
All you need's a strong heart and a nerve of steel
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las VegasViva Las Vegas with you neon flashin'
And your one armbandits crashin'
All those hopes down the drain
Viva Las Vegas turnin' day into nighttime
Turnin' night into daytime
If you see it once
You'll never be the same againI'm gonna keep on the run
I'm gonna have me some fun
If it costs me my very last dime
If I wind up broke up well
I'll always remember that I had a swingin' time
I'm gonna give it ev'rything I've got
Lady luck please let the dice stay hot
Let me shout a seven with ev'ry shot
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las Vegas,
Viva, viva Las Vegas
--- Elvis Presley, Viva Las Vegas
The next time you hear from me, I'll probably be drunk, broke and basically a complete and total degenerate. Yes, that's right, I'm going to Las Vegas!
In honor of my 21st birthday (which happens to be on Saturday) I leave for Vegas very early Sunday morning and get back late Friday night. That means you'll have to suffer through an entire week without me. Don't worry though, I have some very entertaining guest writers lined up to take my place.
In case I don't make it back from Sin City alive, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has stopped by to read this website this month, as well as everyone from other websites who have been kind enough to link to me.
There were more visitors this month than at any time during the 17-month history of Aaron's Baseball Blog, and it wasn't even close. For the first time ever, this website topped 40,000 visitors in a month, which is pretty amazing considering I took several days off for the holidays and many of you were probably much too busy to stop by here everyday.
Yesterday I made a list of "The Top Eight Things I Want To See In 2004." I would like to add a ninth thing to the list, which is to see this blog reach one-million total visitors. We're at right around 320,000 now, so that means there would have to be an average of about 56,000 visitors per month to reach that number by the end of 2004. It's probably a bit of a far-fetched goal, but I would have said the same thing about getting 40,000 visitors in a month this time last year.
Once again, thanks to all you guys who come by here everyday and to all the bloggers out there who have helped me out in various ways. It's been a whole lot of fun and I look forward to starting another year of blogging as soon as I make my triumphant return from Las Vegas.
Wish me luck and make sure to come here all next week to check out the awesome guest writers. I'll see you bright and early on Monday the 12th, with a full report on all the goings on in Vegas. Well, maybe not a full report...my mom reads this blog too you know.
