  1. Scary discussion with the Geek. Tori Hunter overall WAR in 2015: -.8. Byron Buxton overall WAR in 2015 .2. Tori Hunter made 10+ million dollars and is 40 years old. Byron Buxton made the minimum and is the #1 prospect in the MLB. Buxton probably played the worst he could have in his limited 46 games and was still better than Hunter in his limited time. Buxton also wasted AAA ball in limited time. It was incorrectly mentioned that he didn’t play in AAA. There is ZERO need to re-sign Tori Hunter. Byron Buxton, Aaron Hicks, Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler should be the outfielders in 2015. You can then sign a nobody to a minor league contract to back those guys up, WHO would also be better than Hunter for the cost. It’s just total homer talk about the need to re-sign Hunter. That money could be spent elsewhere, AND if it’s not, oh well. These are needs the Twins need to focus on: Catcher, Relief Pitching, DH and Starting Pitching Prospects.

Then there was strange talk about Twins starting pitchers being comparable to what we are seeing in the playoffs right now. Phil Hughes, Ervin Santana, Kyle Gibson and Trevor May might, on these playoff teams have a chance to be the 3rd or 4th starter. That’s about it. They all have value, but the Twins are lacking elite starting pitching talent. Jose Berios is the only guy who if everything pans out be a comparable starting pitching talent. I’m sure the Geek wants him in AAA ball until Sept though so the Twins can re-sign Pelfrey and/or have Milone get 20 starts first… BRUTAL!

  2. I think homer is the wrong term. He’s an apologist. Possibly on the payroll of the Twins or Tori Hunter himself.

  3. Why no comments from Becky on the podcast? She’s a silent partner

  4. Any disparaging comments yet about the Fox announcers? Surely their many, many years of playing and or calling the game is at odds with the info obtained from baseball encyclopedia….. If not your virtue.
